Just as Primordius is the force of life and peace, Astroida is the Ancient Being of Darkness, Destruction, and Chaos.  After her defeat 4.6 billion years ago, the "Queen of Chaos" was banished into the far reaches of space.  She returned at the end of the Permian period to take revenge, only to be defeated and exiled once again.  It wasn't until 65 million years ago, at the end of the Late Cretaceous Period, that her children, the Iridians, invaded and almost destroyed all life on Earth, especially the dinosaurs.
